♦হিন্দুধর্ম ও পতিতাবৃত্তি♦

হিন্দুধর্মের গ্রন্থগুলোতে অসংখ্য জায়গায় ব্যভিচার আর পতিতাবৃত্তির সমর্থন করা হয়েছে। হিন্দুরা এর জবাবে বলে যে, 'হিন্দুধর্ম আসলে পতিতাবৃত্তির শিক্ষা দেয় না। বরং পতিতাবৃত্তি সমাজের দারিদ্র্যের প্রতিফলন। আর যেহেতু হিন্দুধর্ম সবচেয়ে সহনশীল ধর্ম, তাই কোনো গোষ্ঠীর ওপর নির্যাতন এর কথা এই ধর্মে বলা হয় নি।"
তারা এই সব মনগড়া থিওরি খাড়া করে যেখানে তাদের বেদই স্বয়ং নাস্তিকদের ও অমুসলিমদের হত্যা আর লুণ্ঠনের নির্দেশ দিচ্ছে।

যদিও এই আধুনিক যুগে, এমনকি প্রাচীন যুগেও অনেকেই স্বেচ্ছায় পতিতাবৃত্তি বেছে নিত, কিন্তু তারপরও হিন্দুরা এতে কোনো দোষ দেখতে পায় না। তাদের কাছে পতিতাবৃত্তি একটা সম্মানের বিষয়।

স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ একজন পতিতা নারীর কাজকে ঈশ্বরের ভক্তির সাথে তুলনা করেছেন:

"According to **the doctrine of Bhakti**, God is held to be "All-Love". One cannot even say, "I love Him", for the reason that He is All-Love. There is no love outside of Himself; the love that is in the heart with which you love Him is even He Himself. In a similar way, whatever attractions or inclinations one feels drawn by, are all He Himself.
The thief steals, ***the harlot sells her body to prostitution***, the mother loves her child—in each of these too is He! One world system attracts another—there also is He. Everywhere is He."

অনেকে হিন্দু গ্রন্থগুলো থেকে রেফারেন্স দিয়ে দেখাতে পারে যে, হিন্দুধর্মের আসল উদ্দেশ্য এমনতর কাম-প্রবৃত্তিতে মত্ত হওয়া নয়, বরং হিন্দুধর্ম সব সময় শিক্ষা দেয় যে, এগুলো নিকৃষ্ট কর্ম এবং মুক্তি লাভের পথে বাঁধা। তাই এসকল কাজ বর্জন করতে হবে।

আমাদের প্রশ্ন হল, বুঝলাম যে, হিন্দুধর্ম এসকল কুকাজ এর নিন্দা করছে। কিন্তু হিন্দু শাস্ত্র কি এমন পথ দেখাচ্ছে যেখানে সমাজে দারিদ্র‍্য, ব্যভিচার, পতিতাবৃত্তি এগুলো কিছুই থাকবে না? না!
বরং হিন্দু শাস্ত্র একদিকে যেমন এসকল কাজকে নিন্দা করছে, অন্যদিকে এগুলোকে সহ্যও করছে এবং পুরোপুরি সেগুলোকে নিষিদ্ধও করছে না!
পতিতাবৃত্তি যে হিন্দু দর্শনে একটি সম্মানীয় ব্যাপার সেটা পরিষ্কার আমরা দেখতে পাই হিন্দু গ্রন্থ কামসূত্র থেকে:

"The Hindoos have ever had the ***good sense to recognise courtesans as a part and portion of human society***, and so long as they behaved themselves with decency and propriety they were regarded ***with a certain respect.***"

এমনকি আরও লজ্জার বিষয় হল এই যে, কামসূত্র একজন পতিতা নারীকে পবিত্র নারীর সাথে তুলনা করেছে যখন সে তার সঙ্গীর সাথে শারীরিক কাজে লিপ্ত হয়!

"***When a courtesan is living as a wife with her lover, she should behave like a chaste woman***, and do everything to his satisfaction. Her duty in this respect, in short, is, that she should give him pleasure, but should not become attached to him, though behaving as if she were really attached."

শুধু এটুকুই নয়। হিন্দু শাস্ত্র অনুযায়ী, যদি কেউ পতিতাবৃত্তি বেছে নেয়, তাহলে পরকালেও সে কোনো শাস্তির সম্মুখীন হবে না; বরং পরকালে তাকে স্বর্গের অপ্সরা বানিয়ে দেওয়া হবে স্বর্গবাসীকে আনন্দ দেওয়ার জন্য।

"....those that are sprung from Tamo Guna are recognised as worst and belonging to the unknown families. They are very scurrilous, cheats, ruining their families, fond of their own free ways, quarrelsome and no seconds are found equal to them.

أَرَءَيْتَ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَٰهَهُۥ هَوَىٰهُ أَفَأَنتَ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِ وَكِيلًا
أَمْ تَحْسَبُ أَنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ أَوْ يَعْقِلُونَۚ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا كَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِۖ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا

"তুমি কি দেখ না তাকে, যে তার কামনা-বাসনাকে উপাস্যরূপে গ্রহণ করে? তবুও কি তুমি তার কর্মবিধায়ক হবে?
তুমি কি মনে কর যে, ওদের অধিকাংশ শোনে ও বুঝে? ওরা তো পশুরই মত; বরং ওরা আরও অধম।"

زُيِّنَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَيَسْخَرُونَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواۘ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ

"সত্য প্রত্যাখ্যানকারী (কাফের)দের জন্য পার্থিব জীবন সুশোভিত করা হয়েছে। তারা বিশ্বাসী (মুমিন)গণকে ঠাট্টা-বিদ্রূপ করে থাকে। অথচ যারা ধর্মভীরু তারা শেষ বিচারের দিন তারা তাদের উর্ধ্বে (বেহেশ্তে) থাকবে। আর আল্লাহ যাকে ইচ্ছা (ইহ-পরকালে) অশেষ জীবিকা দান করে থাকেন।"
